Frequently Asked Questions
What is The PeriMeno Co?
The PeriMeno Co is an Australian, female-founded perimenopause brand developing a microbiome-first, 24-hour system for women navigating this transition.
We exist for the woman who no longer feels like herself—and is done being told that disappearing energy, broken sleep, brain fog and feeling completely overwhelmed are simply part of getting older. Alongside the system, we’re building straight-talking education and a community that reflects the women actually living through this. No beige wellness. No waiting until she falls apart before taking her seriously. Just a smarter, more complete perimenopause conversation—with the woman at the centre of it.
Who is The PeriMeno Co designed for?
The PeriMeno Co is designed for women navigating perimenopause, particularly those experiencing early or easily overlooked changes in their thirties and forties.
She’s leading the meetings, running the house, remembering what everyone else needs and holding the whole thing together—while privately dealing with disrupted sleep, brain fog, shifting moods or the unnerving sense that she is no longer quite herself.
You do not need to be visibly falling apart to deserve answers or support. If your life still expects the same woman but your body has changed the terms, you’re among your people.
What makes The PeriMeno Co’s approach to perimenopause different?
The PeriMeno Co takes a microbiome-first, 24-hour view of perimenopause rather than viewing every change as a separate problem.
We start with the gut, consider how different parts of the body interact across day and night, and build around the reality of the woman living through it. That means looking beyond the usual hot-flush narrative to the sleep disruption, digestive changes, brain fog, overstimulation and identity shift that can make a capable woman feel unlike herself. Hormones remain central to perimenopause. We’re simply refusing to pretend they are the only part of the conversation.
What does gut health have to do with perimenopause?
Gut health and perimenopause are connected—and research is continuing to uncover the full extent of that relationship.
Gut bacteria are involved in digestion, immune and metabolic functions, communication along the gut–brain axis and the metabolism of some oestrogens. However, researchers are still establishing exactly how the microbiome changes during the menopause transition and what those changes mean clinically. We are not claiming that every symptom begins in the gut—or that the gut is a cure-all. We are saying it deserves a place in a more complete conversation about perimenopause.
Why does The PeriMeno Co start with the microbiome?
The PeriMeno Co starts with the microbiome because the gut is connected with digestion, immune and metabolic function, hormone metabolism and communication between the gut and brain.
Digestive changes are also part of how many women describe their perimenopause experience, yet the gut remains one of the most overlooked parts of the perimenopause conversation. We think it is a significant missing chapter. Microbiome-first is our product-development philosophy—not a claim that the gut causes every symptom or that supporting it replaces medical treatment. Hormones have had the headline for decades. We’re bringing an important, underrepresented part of the story into view.
Why can hormonal changes during perimenopause affect the whole body?
Perimenopause is hormonally driven, but fluctuations in hormones such as oestrogen and progesterone can be experienced across multiple systems throughout the body.
Changes may affect menstrual cycles, temperature regulation, sleep, mood, concentration, sexual and urinary health, muscles, joints and everyday functioning. This is why perimenopause can feel less like one symptom and more like someone quietly changed the operating system overnight. Every woman’s experience is different, and similar symptoms can have other causes. But if several parts of you suddenly feel different at once, you are not imagining the pattern—and it deserves proper attention.
Why does The PeriMeno Co take a 24-hour view of perimenopause?
The PeriMeno Co takes a 24-hour view because perimenopause does not confine itself to one symptom—or one part of the day.
A fractured night can follow you into the morning as exhaustion, brain fog and absolutely no capacity for more noise. An overstimulating day can make switching off at night feel impossible. Sleep, energy, mood, digestion and stress do not operate in separate rooms; they can influence how a woman feels across the full day. Our 24-hour view recognises that lived reality by considering morning and evening together, rather than treating them as completely unrelated experiences.
Can The PeriMeno Co system be used alongside hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
If you’re already using HRT, The PeriMeno Co system is designed to sit alongside it—not replace it.
Some women choose to use HRT, some choose not to, and others are still working out what support looks like as their perimenopause journey changes. We see HRT, nutrition and lifestyle support as different potential options in a woman’s toolkit—not opposing camps. There is no single right way to navigate perimenopause. It is an individual choice and an individual journey.
As with any supplement, if you are unsure whether it is right for you or suitable alongside your medication, always check with your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the early signs of perimenopause?
The early signs of perimenopause can be far more subtle than many women expect.
You may initially notice disrupted sleep, bloating or other digestive changes, feeling more easily overstimulated, mood changes, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, headaches, breast tenderness, reduced libido, vaginal dryness or muscle and joint discomfort.
Changes to your menstrual cycle are common, but they are not always the first clue. Your periods may still appear regular, and hot flushes do not have to be the opening act.
Often, it is not one obvious symptom but a collection of small changes that leave you feeling less resilient, more easily overwhelmed or simply unlike yourself.
These symptoms can have other causes, but if you know something has shifted, that deserves investigation—not dismissal.
Do I need a formal diagnosis to be part of The PeriMeno Co community?
No. There is no diagnosis required at the door.
Many women find us in the messy middle—when their periods may still be regular, their symptoms feel completely disconnected and they know something has changed but cannot yet name it. The PeriMeno Co was created for that woman too. The one who looks fine, keeps functioning and is quietly wondering where the hell she went.
We cannot diagnose you or replace personalised medical care, and new or concerning symptoms should always be investigated. But you do not need paperwork, permission or a hot flush dramatic enough for television to take your experience seriously.
If you feel suspiciously unlike yourself, you’re already part of the conversation.
When will The PeriMeno Co system launch—and how can I be first to know?
The PeriMeno Co system is already more than 18 months into research and development, shaped alongside formulation and compliance experts and refined at every stage.
We’re taking the time to get it right because women have had enough of incomplete answers and “almost right” support.
